Christopher Graham is curator at the American Civil War Museum in Richmond, Virginia. In his position, he wrestles with major questions confronting historians and museums today, including:
- how can the best academic research be integrated into an exhibit that is accessible to a broad public audience?
- how and to what degree should academic researchers share interpretive authority with community members?
- can museums attract new audiences for Civil War history with challenging new narratives and unexpected perspectives?
