Bio

Lauren Johnson grew up in Boone, North Carolina, and has always had a love for both music and helping others. She earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sacred Music and Vocal Performance from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2016, and later completed an AAS from Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute in 2022 to become a registered Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Before joining the History Department, Lauren served as Associate Music Director for Grace Lutheran Church, worked as a bank teller at Wells Fargo, and most recently supported K–5 students as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant with Randolph County Schools.

Lauren has been part of the Department of History since August 2024 and is grateful for the chance to support the faculty, students, and the department’s continued growth. Outside of work, she loves singing with the Winston-Salem Symphony Chorus, getting lost in a good fantasy or science fiction novel, and spending time with her nearest and dearest.
