
Talk by Dr. Judy Tzu-Chun Wu, “Pacific Feminisms: Patsy Takemoto Mink and the 1977 National Women’s Conference”

Join us on September 18, 2025 from 5:00-6:30 pm in the Porter Byrum Welcome Center for a talk by Dr. Judy Tzu-Chun Wu, Professor in the Departments of History and Asian American Studies, University of California, Irvine. She will discuss her recent monograph Fierce and Fearless (co-authored with Gwendolyn Mink) on the life and activism of Patsy Takemoto Mink, a legislative champion of Title IX, and the first woman of color and Asian American woman elected to Congress. She will also share insights from her forthcoming book Moving Mountains and her current research on Asian American and Pacific Islander women at the 1977 National Women’s Conference.
